What can you expect to find here?
We encourage you to see this website as a repository of information and also a call to action. Our website features work and voices from a diverse cross-section of academia, civil society, government, and multi-lateral organizations. We invite you to contribute, use the resources available and definitely come back for more.
Collection of resources
The website houses a searchable collection of articles, briefs, reports and more related to gender, policies, and pandemic response. This growing library of evidence was created to provide timely knowledge that academics, health practitioners and policy makers can use to support work on COVID-19.
Online Gender Matrix
Pandemic responses require practical tools that can be used to analyze how social and economic factors interact to impact the health and wellbeing of people of different genders. Learn more about our COVID-19 Gender Matrix. Click on any of the cells for definitions of the type of information to include at the intersection of each domain as well as links to country specific examples of news and web content for Canada, China, Hong Kong and the UK.
Development
The Gender and COVID-19 website is a dynamic platform and we will add content as the project develops:
- We will continue to populate the gender matrix and add resources and data to the online library
- We will develop and disseminate an online COVID-19 Gender Assessment Toolkit to support pandemic responses
- We will analyze how COVID-19 policies respond to gendered impacts, and conduct case studies and surveys on the economic effects of the outbreak in several low- and middle-income countries
